In 1981 Eduard A.E. van Dishoeck started an Antiquarian old book, print and map shop in the center of Amsterdam. Originally close to the law campus, but soon moved to the Raamsteeg. In both the Netherlands and Belgium Eduard mastered the trade while working for the largest antiquarian book & print dealer in Europe. After starting his own business, Eduard developed his knowledge about the trade by the many contacts he had with the late Max Israël and Simon Emmering, both experts in antiquarian books, prints and maps in Amsterdam. In 2016 we celebrated our 35 years anniversary. (1981 – 2016)
Eduard is the fifth generation of the Van Dishoeck family that has specialized in the book and print trade. Family members are and were in the book and newspaper publishing and selling of books and prints etc. contiguous since about 1860.
